In 2002, a group of forward-thinking tech industry leaders partnered with Union Property Capital and Rockwood Capital to perform a $130 million renovation to create the most secure and well-equipped data center in the Bay Area. The 365 Main project included $30 million in structural upgrades, including base isolation system, complete foundation upgrade, major column upgrades and complete shear wall reconfiguration/upgrade. The renovation gave the asset the “Essential Facility” status, assuring that the facility will remain operational during and after major earthquakes. Other features include a secure 52-space parking lot and 14,800 square feet of office space. 365 Main was sold to Digital Realty in 2010.
